Episode 1

Making A Difference with Jenifer Namestka

How many times have you woke up and just stood in your closet and wondered how you ended up here?

It can be a whole experience in moments like this, seeing our journey both personally and professionally. Looking at EVERYTHING, God-is-so-good! Sometimes we have to make space to see purpose in it all as ambitious leaders and still allow ourselves to feel courage, grace, and confidence. Yet what comes forth is even greater influence and the ability to see our story in ways that can make a difference.

In this first episode today, I’m chatting with Jenifer Namestka, Principal Consultant and CEO of Avo Solutions, one of the leading boutique management consultant firms. Her breadth of work spans across business consulting locally and globally, delivering culture-change management solutions, building eLearning and digital platforms, participating in faith-driven global leadership and ministry.

Jenifer shares the importance of having a vision early on in her career that prioritizes personal values and takes into consideration the impact our life choices have not only on ourselves but others that care about you most. Studies show 1 in 2 women leaders are considering leaving their job in the next two years to pursue career endeavors, start a business, or leave the workforce altogether. Burnout and lack of fulfillment are two main drivers. Jenifer walks us through how to make purposeful choices to transition well through the changes that come with life without losing your sense of identity and discovering purpose.

Jenifer is passionate about making a difference through her business. She is intentional about creating a company culture that provides flexibility for working women so that they can show up and thrive in all areas of their lives. She shares her biggest lessons in leadership and the cornerstone of faith in her journey. I know you’re going to be inspired and get a lot of value from this conversation.

Enjoy!

Topics We Covered:

[2:17]: Nothing in life is ever wasted. There's purpose and preparation in everything. We just have to be courageous enough to prepare for the seasons that are ahead.

[3:20]: Reflecting on how far we’ve come gives us perspective on our impact and influence.

[4:45]: Many of us don’t know what is next. The data shows 1 in 2 women leaders are considering leaving their job in the next two years to pursue career endeavors, start a business, or leave the workforce altogether.

[6:50]: Many of us are walking through new seasons that are shifting all of our being; life and career. Now you are questioning, how did I end up here? You may be chasing fulfillment and still looking for something else.

[8:30]: When we are able to make a difference and have an impact that changes things for good, this is where we find fulfillment. What’s going to be different for you in this new season? Many working women know what it is to sacrifice and chase after success, now is the time to chase significance.

[11:25]: Giving of ourselves from our story and experiences is what gives us fulfillment and that deep purpose that we look for. People often only see the outside, our titles and our work, not an inside-view of the journey. Use all that ambition stirring within you to make an impact and be open to the influence that you could really have. Make change right where you are.

[19:30]: Jenifer shares her unique journey starting as an educator and in youth ministry to becoming a corporate leader and eventually leading Avo Solutions as a truly fulfilled working woman.

[21:27] Jenifer and I remind you of how important it is to be open to things. Especially when we have no idea what’s next and where we are going to land on a journey of faith.

[23:20] Reading and understanding what it looks like to do ministry and be of service in the workplace helped Jenifer to lean-in to a passion for wanting to make a difference with her work. God can use you and your life through your work and business. For many, our journey becomes our fuel and this is why we have to reflect on what has brought us here.

[28:30]: Decisions become easier when we know our values and are clear about what matters most to us and our loved ones. We have to have a vision and be courageous and open to putting ourselves and our overall well-being first. [35:00]: Working women are very resilient. What goes through your mind when making some of the toughest decisions professionally often is your family and loved ones. They bring everything into perspective for us.

[41:50]: Jenifer shares her biggest lessons in business and motherhood. She helps us to understand that she has a company that has done very well because she loves what she does and it’s aligned to who she is. She reminds us what’s most important and who is watching us.

[55:00] Jenifer is very intentional about how she can make a difference in the lives of all those she interacts with from her employees to her family. Her faith and prayer time is everything to her in life and during these seasons of transition. It makes her a better leader and gives her purpose.

[1:02:30]: Where to follow and keep up with Jenifer.

[1:05:00] Be mindful about how your journey is fueling where you are headed next. Think about how you can make an impact right where you are and find purpose and fulfillment through it.

[1:09:00]: I'm very honored to be a coach for ambitious women leaders. It is through my company and our coaching programs at SOMEI that we help women leaders navigate seasons in life and business and make movement forward on their vision. Everything is purposeful, now is the time to use everything to make a difference.
